Top 5 2007-08 College Football Bowl Games in Texas

Although college football's national champion will be crowned in the AllState BCS Championship Game in New Orleans, Texas will play host to plenty of postseason pigskin action during December and January.

1. Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl

Formerly known as the Fort Worth Bowl, the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl features top teams from the Pac 10 and Mountain West Conference. This year's game is set for Dec. 31 and features California and the Air Force Academy.

2. Texas Bowl

Now in its secnod season, the Texas Bowl is well on its way to developing a proud college postseason event in Houston. Held in Reliant Stadium, the Texas Bowl is scheduled for Dec. 28 and features former Southwest Conference foes TCU and Houston.

3. Brut Sun Bowl

First played as a high school all-star game in 1935, the Sun Bowl first invited college teams to participate in 1936. The annual game has been a college football classic ever since. This year the game, which will be played Dec. 31, features two of this season's biggest surprises, the South Florida Bulls and the Oregon Ducks.

4. Alamo Bowl

San Antonio's annual showcase of college football action, the Alamo Bowl, has been thrilling fans in the Alamo City for more than a decade. This year's game is set for Dec. 30 and features the Texas A&M Aggies and Penn State Nittany Lions.

5. Cotton Bowl

This annual New Year's Day game has showcased top college football talent for seven decades. Kicking off 2008 in the Dallas for the 72nd annual Cotton Bowl will be the Missouri Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks.
